Cookie policy

The Ministry of Industry and Tourism informs about the use of cookies on its web pages.

What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your computer by websites. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of numerous information society services. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their equipment and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise the user and improve the service offered.

Types of cookies

Depending on the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished: first-party cookies and third-party cookies.

There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client's browser, being session cookies or persistent cookies.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies and behavioural advertising cookies.

For more information on this subject, please consult the Guide on the use of cookies of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

Cookies used on the website

The cookies used on this portal are identified below, as well as their type and function:

The Ministry's website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service developed by Google, which allows the measurement and analysis of browsing on websites. In your browser you will be able to see 4 cookies from this service. According to the above typology, these are first-party, session and analytical cookies. You can find more information about this and disable the use of these cookies on this page.

Through web analytics, information is obtained on the number of users accessing the website, the number of pages viewed, the frequency and repetition of visits, their duration, the browser used, the operator providing the service, the language, the terminal used, or the city to which your IP address is assigned. This information enables this portal to provide a better and more appropriate service.

To ensure anonymity, Google will anonymise your information by truncating the IP address before storing it, so that Google Analytics is not used to locate or collect personally identifiable information about visitors to the site. Google may only send the information collected by Google Analytics to third parties insofar as it is legally obliged to do so. In accordance with the Google Analytics terms of service, Google will not associate your IP address with any other data.

Another cookie that is downloaded is a technical cookie called ASP.NET_SessionId . This cookie stores a unique identifier per session through which it is possible to link data necessary to enable browsing in progress.

Finally, a technical cookie called cookies_policy is downloaded, which is of a technical and session type. It manages the user's consent to the use of cookies on the website, with the aim of remembering those users who have accepted them and those who have not, so that the former are not shown information on the top of the page in this respect.
