Direct aid to companies intensive gas

On March 29, 2022, the Council of Ministers approved, within the National Response Plan to the consequences of the war in Ukraine, a series of actions aimed at helping the large energy-consuming industry that total 488 million euros.

Within the scope of said aid, €125 million is allocated in direct aid to gas-intensive companies with the expectation of benefiting more than 1,600 companies. The sectors that will benefit from this aid are paper and cardboard, glass and ceramics.

As established in the article 3 of Royal Decree-Law 6/2022, of March 29, which adopts urgent measures within the framework of the National Plan to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine:

  • The beneficiaries of this aid will be companies, whatever their legal form, including communities of property and entities without legal personality or self-employed, that have tax domicile in Spanish territory, that have carried out 2021 at least one of the activities provided for in the CNAE Codes described in said article and continue in their exercise in the time of request.
  • The amount of the aid for each beneficiary will consist of an amount, depending on their CNAE , multiplied by its number of employees, with a maximum amount of 400,000 euros.

The application, available until May 3, 2022, will be made through the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency
