Background of the norm

In accordance with article 26.2 of law 50 / 1997 of 27 November, the government, we proceed to make the public consultation prior to design the draft royal decree updated rules of energy efficiency in outdoor lighting installations and its instructions Complementary Techniques approved by the Royal Decree 1890 / 2008 of 14 November

Objectives of the norm

The objectives of these regulations are maintained.

The application of the rules will not deterioration in road safety and pedestrians and properties that should provide lighting installations outside, because the purpose of the lighting is to help create an environment that allows night vision a decrease the risk of accidents and an increase in the fluidity of movement of vehicles, creating conditions for the conduct of the same and a visibility suitable for the pedestrian, its security and the buildings and property environment.

It will not be the object of future regulation establish minimum values for lighting levels in the different types of track or to illuminate spaces, which are governed by the rules that apply them.
