Resumen
The Royal Decree 2406 / 1985, 20 November, declaring mandatory technical specifications of bicycles and parts and its approval by the ministry of industry, energy and tourism, establishes the regulatory framework of reference in the area.
At the moment there are circulating in the national territory a range of bicycles and other cycles that are not covered by the Royal Decree mentioned above.
In parallel are being developed European standards that establish safety requirements and testing methods applicable to ride bikes, career and mountain areas as well as accessories and luggage storage.
This project seeks to establish the regulatory framework of cycles in the area of the general security as product on the market available to consumers and in the field of road safety in its use on public roads.
In accordance with article 24.1.c) of the law 50 / 1997 of 27 November, government undergoes processing of public information.
